What’s a Good Alternative to Pivotal Tracker?

A few months ago, we outlined what we thought were good alternatives to Jira. Today we’re going to review some alternatives to Pivotal Tracker. It might seem counter-intuitive to offer alternatives to Pivotal Tracker, because they could be our competitors, since Jixee is a task and communications hub for development teams. But we’re consumers too and we know the best way to make a decision is have all the facts in front of you. Unlike our post about alternatives to Jira, I haven’t used these tools much. But they’re all common and well known tools. So here are the facts that I’ve been able to find about each tool.

Rally Software

Rally Software created one of the older agile project management tools on the market. It was founded in 2001 and is still going strong today. Rally Software just had an IPO last year. Rally Software offers a variety of different products and services in addition to the agile project management software. But the major reason that kept me from embracing Rally Software was that their focus is on enterprise level clients. So, unless you have a deep pockets, Rally Software might not be your best option.

Wrike

Wrike was founded in 2006 and calls itself a “real-time workspace where teams collaborate.” Wrike seems very focused on connecting remote teams and teams that are on the run. They have both an iPhone and Android app. Wrike uses the freemium model, which means your first five users, with limited features, is free. From there you can sign up for either 5 or 15 users, which costs $49 and $99 a month. But these payments need be done annually. If your team is larger than that, Wrike does have enterprise level packages.

Blossom.io

Blossom.io makes me think of the ever popular, teenage TV show from the ’90s. Maybe that’s just me. Founded in 2011, Blossom.io is a lightweight project management tool for lean and agile software development teams. It allows users to drag and drop tasks between development cycles and offers performance analytics and 3rd party integrations. Blossom.io is much more affordable than Rally Software. Their starting price is $19 a month for five users. Then it jumps to 15/$59 and 25/$149. Need more seats than that? You can always contact their team.

Proofhub

ProofHub_614233_i1 I’m adding Proofhub to this list because they commented on our list of alternatives to Jira. Seriously, that’s why. But after further review, their product looks like it has potential. Pricing starts at $15 a month and goes all the way up to $149. Instead of user pricing, Proofhub charges according to the number of projects you use. It’s definitely a worthwhile option.

Jixee

This list wouldn’t be complete without us! Sure, we’re biased. But we’re proud of what we’ve built and what we’re currently building. Jixee is a good alternative to Pivotal Tracker and similar tools because of three primary factors.

The first is our design. We make it as easy as possible to set up and navigate. We use a lot of software ourselves and we’ll be the first to tell you if we can’t figure out how to set up the software in a few seconds, we lose interest. Second, we integrate with your favorite tools. Instead of forcing you to change all your products to fit our ecosystem, we let you connect what you’re used to. Lastly, we are affordable to just about every team with a paying client.

Our packages currently start at $9 a month. Even less if you pay a year upfront. If you’re looking for an alternative to Pivotal Tracker, you might as well try Jixee. Every team is different. Every team has different preferences. At some point the features between different products are so similar, it comes down to personal preference. So if you’re looking for an alternative to Pivotal Tracker, start with this list of tools.
